1867 , 1868 patent dates on the center tube This is possibly an Early unmarked Dietz No.17 model Uses a big No.1 globe ( which is very strongly cast) Brass No.2 burner and cone ( new wick installed) 7in Mercury reflector slides in and top wire latch holds it in place . Brass fill spout is unique , this style is commonly found on oil lamps and street lamps of the era. Condition - excellent, next to perfect condition you want to find for almost a 150yrs old. No rusting or pitting, no visible condition issues present. Nice tinning still visible on back and bottom. Lantern has been lightly cleaned, and oiled for a finish.
