Auction Help & Frequently Asked Questions

Need Help? We're Here to Assist.

Welcome to the Lantern Joe Auctions Help Center.

Whether you're having trouble registering, placing a bid, understanding an invoice, or arranging shipping, we're here to help make your auction experience as straightforward as possible.

Below you'll find answers to common questions from our bidders, buyers, and consignors.

For a complete explanation of our auction process, please visit our How Auctions Work page.

Account & Registration Questions

1. Why can't I place a bid?

To participate in Lantern Joe Auctions, you must have a registered account that has been approved for bidding.

If you're unable to place a bid, confirm that you're logged into the correct account and that your bidder registration has been approved.

If the problem continues, please contact us.

2. I registered but haven't been approved. What should I do?

All new bidder registrations are reviewed individually to help maintain a safe and reliable auction environment.

If your registration is still pending, please allow time for review. If you believe there has been an error or an unusually long delay, contact Lantern Joe Auctions.

3. I can't access my account. How do I get help?

First, confirm you're using the correct email address associated with your account.

If you've forgotten your password, use the available password-reset option.

If you're still unable to access your account, contact us for assistance.

Bidding Questions

4. Why did the auction countdown reset to 24 hours?

Lantern Joe Auctions uses a rolling 24-hour bidding system.

Every accepted bid resets the auction countdown to 24 hours, including bids placed before the reserve price has been met.

This gives interested collectors an opportunity to respond rather than losing an auction to last-second bidding.

5. Why wasn't my bid accepted?

A bid may be rejected if it doesn't meet the required bid increment, the auction is no longer accepting bids, your account isn't approved, or another bidding requirement hasn't been satisfied.

If you believe your bid was incorrectly rejected, contact us with the auction title and details of the problem.

6. Can I cancel a bid placed by mistake?

All bids should be treated as binding commitments.

If you believe you've placed a bid in error, contact Lantern Joe Auctions immediately.

Bid cancellation requests are reviewed individually and are not guaranteed.

Winning & Payment Questions

7. I won an auction. What happens next?

Once an auction successfully closes, the winning bidder will receive payment instructions or an invoice.

Shipping charges and any applicable sales tax may need to be determined before the final transaction amount is confirmed.

Please review your invoice and follow the payment instructions provided.

8. Why is my invoice higher than my winning bid?

Your final total may include the winning bid, an applicable buyer's premium, shipping charges, and sales tax where required.

The winning bid alone may not represent the full amount due.

9. I haven't received my invoice. What should I do?

First, check your email inbox and spam or junk folder.

If you still haven't received payment instructions, contact Lantern Joe Auctions with the item title and your registered email address.

Shipping & Delivery Questions

10. Who is responsible for shipping my auction purchase?

For most remote consignment auctions, the consignor ships the merchandise directly to the winning buyer.

Shipping arrangements and charges depend on the merchandise and the terms of the individual auction.

11. How do I get my tracking number?

Consignors are required to provide valid shipment tracking information.

Once tracking has been received and processed, the information will be communicated to the buyer through the available notification process.

If you need an update, contact us with your auction information.

12. What should I do if my item arrives damaged or there's a problem?

Contact Lantern Joe Auctions within seven calendar days of delivery.

Please include the auction title, a description of the problem, photographs of the merchandise, and photographs of the packaging when relevant.

We review reported issues individually and may request additional information to assist with shipping claims or dispute resolution.
